NOTE ON BAD WEATHER
.
This time of year can bring fast changes to weather. Please be understanding with our coaches and the board if a practice is cancelled/paused due to heavy rain or lightning. Use the Swimtopia app to receive push notifications.
Our coaches use an app to see if there is lightning within 10 miles. If so, we pause practice for 30 minutes. They also may pause/cancel practice if there is lightning outside of 10 miles, based on their best judgement.
Practice Info
If you are interested in things you can do to help your swimmer in addition to Stingray practice, THIS may help.
Stingray Practice
- Swimmers just need their goggles, a towel, sunscreen and some water. Anything else they may need will be provided.
- You can purchase PRESCRIPTION goggles for nearsighted swimmers on Amazon as long as you know the prescription (use the negative number).
- Any swim suit may be worn at practice. A lot of kids like to wear their Stingray swim suit.
- If your swimmer wants to wear a swim cap on race day, they may want to wear it with their goggles at practice (at least a few times) before the meet.
- Usually, the Tuesday or Wednesday after a swim meet, ribbons are ready to be picked up for swimmers that placed 1-6 in an event or had a new personal best time in an individual event. Swimmers (or their parents) can get any ribbons earned from the girls or boys ribbons box. Look for the folder with the swimmer's name on it. Ribbons are inside their folder.
- If you are interested in private swim lessons contact the Coaches.
Private Lessons given by Coaches
If you are interested in private lessons, our coaches are a great resource. Please work directly with the coaches on their private lesson availability.
