Stingrays- 4 things for the Circle C meet

    Happy Tuesday!

We hope everyone had fun at the Fun Meet last weekend!

As we get ready for next week’s meet with the Seals at their pool in Circle C, I have 4 things for you:

    1. Sign yourself up to volunteer when you sign your swimmer up for the Stingrays @ Circle C meet. Swimmer sign up deadline is Thursday at noon.

When you sign up, please make sure you sign up for a volunteer position where you can commit to the entire shift.

In addition, if you select that your swimmer is available for relays, please make sure to be there for your relay. There are options:  "available for all relays", "Arriving late, not available for early relays" (missing the Freestyle relay), "Leaving early, not available for late relays" (missing the Medley relay) and "not available for any relays". If your swimmer is placed in a relay, but isn't there, that relay team may not be able to find a replacement and may not get to swim.

Sometimes things come up on race day. If your swimmer is registered, but you cannot make the meet, please contact a Head Zookeeper - Joey Broccolo or Jason Zirkle. The zoos need to know early enough to make changes to the meet - specifically for relays. Their contact info is on the Stingrays page under Support --> Board and Key Volunteers. AND reach out to me so that I can make sure your volunteer position is covered.

                2. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to our AMAZING FUN MEET VOLUNTEERS!!!!

If you have volunteered in the Zoo, please help us recruit to make sure all Zoo positions are filled by reaching out to families you see during our weekly Stingray practices or through our Facebook page. You can share with them why you like that position and see if they will join you at the next meet. Let’s encourage ALL of our families, new and veterans, to be involved. It takes a lot of work and volunteers to pull off a swim meet.

                3. Zookeepers have a lot going during meet day check in. It would be very helpful if you can assist them in having your swimmer marked up.

Swimtopia has written directions and a video (linked here) to help you learn how to mark up your swimmer. Heat sheets are posted Friday evening for the Saturday meet. The morning of the meet can be hectic. One thing that may help is marking up your swimmer with a permanent marker the night before.

THIS FRIDAY at 7:30pm, you can bring your printed Circle C Meet heat sheet to our pool and we can show you how to mark up your swimmer.

                 4. PHOTO INFO: If you didn’t get to book a spot for Stingray pictures, but wanted to, there are times available on Sunday, 5/21.Sign up link.

Please let me know if you have questions.

    GO STINGRAYS!!!!
