Welcome our coaches and official start of the year
Dear Stingray Families,
Welcome back to our returning swim families and welcome to the new members of our summer league community. It is going to be an exciting season for the Mighty Stingray swim team in 2023!
The Board of Directors is excited to announce our 2023 Stingray coaching staff. This year we are very excited to welcome Ellen Lobb as our Head Coach and Samantha Simpkins as our Head Assistant Coach. Coach Ellen is a former UT swimmer and we know that she will be an amazing fit for our team, we hope you all show her a warm Stingray welcome! Coach Sam has been both a longtime Stingray swimmer and returning Coach and will bring much knowledge to our team. Our Assistant Coaching staff will include; Brenna Moran, Caitlin Elizondo, Jacob Ferguson, Lane Elizondo, Madeleine Vollmer, Maeve Weitzman, Rell Hinojosa, Trip Daniel, Xander Pratt, and Zach Ferguson. The season will kick off with registration for the residents of Shady Hollow from April 3 – 15, with non-residents able to register from April 16 – 30. Registration will close on April 30 and the swim season will officially start with our first practice on May 2nd. Keep an eye on the website for the official practice schedule and swim meet dates and details. The board is still working on the practice schedule as we see how many registrants we have per age group. We expect Champs to be on our around June 24th (this can change) and the year-end award banquet on June 26th. Please also watch the website for upcoming information about Junior Rays and private swim lessons with our coaching staff.
We would also like to invite you to our Stingray 2023 kick-off party at the Shady Hollow pool on April 22, 2023, from 1:00 – 5:00. We will have food, fun, and games as well as Swim Freak to purchase your team suits (same as last year) will be available 2:00 – 4:00. There will also be a new parent orientation at 2:30 where all of your questions about summer swim team will be answered. The board hope to see you all there to kick off our season!
