Greetings Stingray Families,

It is the Stingray Board's honor to announce our head coach for the 2022 swim season, Coach Laura Dubois! Some of you may already know Coach Dubois as the Bowie High School Head Swim Coach. It is a privilege to have her coaching our kids this season. Please join the Board in welcoming her to the team. We will be posting her biography on the Stingray website soon (https://shadyhollow.swimtopia.com/).

As we start looking at the upcoming season, there are some updates the Board would like to communicate to the team!

• The 2022 season, at the moment, is on schedule for standard timing (mid-May through June). The Board will continue to update with schedules, teams participating, etc. as we have more league meetings starting next month, February.
• The Board will begin the process of hiring eight (8) Assistant Coaches in early April. All that qualify are welcome to apply, the link to the application is here https://shadyhollow.swimtopia.com/coaches.
• There are two (2) Board positions up for election under the Stingray by-laws this year. If you would like to nominate yourself to run for either of these positions, please email Steve Hinojosa ([email protected]) and Melinda Ferguson ([email protected]) to be added to the election process.
• Vice President - Currently held by Melinda Ferguson. If you are interested in running for this position, Melinda will shadow and assist with the training and hand-off. If there are no candidates, Melinda will carry the position for an additional two-year term.
• Treasurer - Currently held by Geoff Lawson. We have a wonderful nominee to run for this position, Virginia Adkins! If you would also like to be considered for this position, please email Steve, otherwise, Virginia will run unopposed and will assume the Board position of Treasurer.
• Head Volunteer Positions - Adam and Angela Hughes have graciously agreed to return as our Volunteer coordinators. We will have a separate email regarding head volunteer positions that are open for the 2022 season. It takes a small army to successfully host a swim season, please consider signing up!
• Meet Director Position – This position is appointed by the Board. If you are interested in this position please contact Steve and Melinda for consideration by the board. Steve will shadow and assist with the training and hand-off of this position.
