Stingray Parents,

Registration for meet 1 is now open. Please be sure to sign up your child and volunteer. During this meet we will allow all parents inside the pool deck to watch. This will give us a little bit of normalcy. Also practice social distancing as needed. Vaccinated people do not have to wear a mask and if you are unvaccinated please wear one. We leave the discussion of mask up to the parents for their own children. We will not be mask police.

The meet will be divided into two sessions. Session 1 is 10 and under and session 2 is 11 and above. We will need volunteers for the entire meet meaning both sessions. 

The meets are run entirely by the parents and community. We are so very grateful for all of the people that give their time so that the meet can happen. Volunteering will also get you into the pool area to be much closer your swimmer in mark off areas. 

New to Stingrays? The best way to meet people and figure out this “swim team thing” is to be involved. We will help you in whatever job you choose. To sign up, click the green Job Sign Up button on Swimtopia to choose your volunteer position.

Experienced in the ways of the Stingray? Sign up for your favorite volunteer position.

If you are having trouble deciding what to sign up for, the following questions may help you decide what position fits you best.

-Do you want to “just get it over with”? Help set up the meet the night before OR early Saturday morning.

-Do you want to get those steps in? Runner or hospitality will keep you moving.

-Do you want to be with your kid the entire time? Zookeeper is for you.

**A quick note from last week’s Zookeepers: If you have a 6 and under swimmer, please talk to them about staying in the zoo during the meet.

-Do you want to be right up in the action next to the pool? We have several jobs that would work for you: timer, ready bench and *stroke and Turn judge. (Judges must have done the certification clinic.)

-Do you want to have a job where you sit in the shade by the pool and see all the results before everyone else? Computer is what you want to pick. (You will be assisting our head computer person.)

-Are you a procrastinator? Select clean up after the meet to put the pool back to “normal”.
